Director Kaushik Ganguly says he has harped on the message of the universality of soul in Khaad.

"Khaad is not solely about human psyche which is laid bare in a disaster, it is about how we attain the purity in soul like gold after end which is nirvana," the Shabdo maker told PTI here last evening.

Kaushik, who was eager to interact with the audience during the six day long special screening of the unconventional psycho-melodrama, said for a film like Khaad knowing the audience feedback in a proper way was the most important.

"Unlike conventional single-day premiers where the director is busy attending to guests, celebrities and ordinary audiences, and have little chance to properly interact with anybody, here I can, the cast can have more quality time with the audiences after screening," the national award and IFFI winner director for Shabdo and Arekti Premer Galpo, said.

"We had planned the six-day special screening inviting people from different segments of society in consulation with the director who also felt people can't pay full attention to the film during premiers due to various factors," Srikant Mohta of the production house said.

Khaad is a tale of what happened and what could have happened. But let's not go beyond that, only Kaushikda can dwell on familiar subjects with such unconventional twists, one of the principal actors of the film, Rudranil Ghosh said.
