Leader of Opposition in Punjab Assembly Sukhpal Singh Khaira today slammed Chief Minister Amarinder Singh for "shying away" from taking action against Badals, despite allegations of "blatant corruption" levelled by his cabinet colleagues.
At a function in Dera Bassi, Khaira said the issue of cable mafia has "forced" minister Navjot Singh Sidhu to bring an ordinance in the cabinet pertaining to the alleged Rs 20,000 crore tax evasion by cable operator, illustrating the "distrust" of a minister in his chief minister.
The AAP MLA said Sidhu's demand to amend the rules to give him power to audit the discrepancies of a private cable operator, shows a "lack of faith" in his own chief minister.
"Sidhu himself told the media that Amarinder conveyed to him through one of his friend to slow down in taking actions against Akalis. If the chief minister has no time to talk to his ministers, then what would the common people expect from Captain," Khaira said.
