Uttar Pradesh Urban Development minister Azam Khan today demanded a thorough probe into the corruption allegations on former municipal commissioner of Ghaziabad Jitendra Kumar Singh.
In a letter written to Chief Secretary Javed Usmani, Khan asked him to get an enquiry conducted by Meerut commissioner into the allegations and submit the report in a week's time, an official spokesperson said.
Khan has stated that if any of the allegations are proved correct, National Security Act (NSA) should be imposed against Singh, the spokesperson said.

Khan has mentioned that Singh during his 10 months tenure as the municipal commissioner of Ghaziabad reportedly leased out invaluable land of parks to his relatives at throwaway prices, the spokesperson added.
The minister said that this matter has also come up in the Vidhan Sabha under different rules and the government had given an assurance that all such lease will be cancelled and the money would be realised from the official's funds and gratuity as Singh has since retired.
