Khandu for rationalisation process in transfer of teachers

Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu today directed officials of the education department to carry out rationalisation process in transfer and posting of teachers.

Khandu told department officials during a meeting that revamping of education scenario is a priority for the state government, an official release said.

In total 1,718 teachers are proposed to be transferred and posted within the districts and 802 teachers from one district to another, the release said.

Khandu assured to bear the financial implication of carrying out massive exercise of transferring the teachers, which comes to around Rs 10.82 crore.

Taking serious note of acute shortage of books in schools, Khandu said funds will be release to meet the gap and assured of creating additional teaching posts at secondary and higher secondary level.
 

In view of deteriorating performances of students at the secondary level, the chief minister decided to do away with the no-detention policy, the release said.

The meeting also discussed on mechanism to regularise 6,585 Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) teachers serving across the state, the release added.
