Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu has visited the Arunachal Bhawan at Navi Mumbai after attending the 'Songs and Dances of Northeast' festival in the Western metropolis.
Accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, MLA Bamang Felix, Chief Secretary Shakuntala D Gamlin, Khandu met officers posted there yesterday and interacted with students and visitors staying there.
He took details of problems faced by the authorities of the Bhawan which is frequented mostly by cancer patients from the state for treatment in Mumbai and students studying across Maharashtra.

On Khandu's direction, the government has opened a Head of Account specifically for the Mumbai Arunachal Bhawan.
This would streamline financial transaction of the Bhawan administration and equip its office with financial independence.
Funds have been placed so that essential needs such as electricity and water bills are paid on time, he said.
Khandu also assured the officials that a system is being put in place for long term solution to all major and minor issues confronting the functioning of the Bhawan.
Taking note of difficulties faced by cancer patients, the chief minister also mooted a mechanism for to and fro transportation of patients between Arunachal Bhawan and major hospitals in Mumbai, the release added.
