Khattar advocates modernisation of police force

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today advocated modernisation of police force and said initiatives for setting up Smart Police Stations should be taken up in the state immediately.

The Chief Minister was addressing police officers after launching "HarSamay", a citizen portal of the Haryana Police, here.

Khattar said with the launching of the portal, the state police department had taken an effective step in the direction of making the force sensitive and strict, modern and mobile, alert and accountable, reliable and responsive, and trained and techno-savvy.

Stressing the need of Information Technology, he said "we can make law and order better with IT usage. This will also help in tracking criminals and ushering in transparency in the system."
 

The Chief Minister said "aware citizens" and "empowered crime control mechanism" were two pillars of an effective law and order system.

He said his government's priority was to ensure safety of all citizens, especially women, and to improve the law and order situation.
