Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today directed all deputy commissioners and superintendents of police in Haryana to remain punctual and give maximum time in their offices to promptly redress the grievances of people.
The chief minister also directed the DCs and SPs to together visit at least two villages every week so as to resolve the problems and grievances of people on the spot.
Khattar, who was presiding over the first conference of Deputy Commissioners and Superintendents of Police here today after the formation of new government, said transparent administration, zero tolerance towards corruption and benefit of various welfare schemes and programmes of the state government upto the grass roots level, is the priority of the government.
He further said that the cooperation of DCs and SPs is important to achieve this objective.
The chief minister directed the DCs and SPs to give patient hearing to those visiting them and said that they would remain present in their offices from 11 am to 12 noon daily to redress the grievances, an official release said here.
Besides, he also directed them to spend maximum time in their offices rather than in their 'camp offices'. He made it clear that both DCs and SPs could only work through their camp offices either after the office hours or on holidays.
Khattar said that both DCs and SPs should have proper coordination between them to ensure better administration.
"The motto of the state government is minimum government and maximum governance and for this, there is an urgent need to restructure the staff posted in various districts so as to increase their efficiency," he added.
He said that staff could be redeployed in areas where work has increased.
While directing the officers to achieve the set targets in a time-bound manner, he said, their aim should be to provide a result-oriented administration.
This would not only benefit the common man but also improve the image of government, he said.
Asserting that ensuring proper law and order situation in the state is among the top priorities of the government, he directed the senior functionaries of the police department to create awareness among the people about the new FIR system under which anyone could lodge a complaint in any police station in the state irrespective of their jurisdiction.
