Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today exhorted the youth to play a role in preventing people from indulging in corrupt practices.
Speaking on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda here today, Khattar termed corruption as cancer in society, according to an official release.
He said that he had taken upon himself the task of ending corruption among political leaders.
He asked officers to take responsibility of curbing corruption in government offices.
"I am often introduced as an honest Chief Minister which indicates the type of regime that ruled Haryana earlier. Calling me an honest Chief Minister may be a compliment, but I feel bad because every citizen of the state is supposed to be honest and only dishonest persons should be singled out, not the honest ones," he said.
The Chief Minister exhorted the youth to play a role in preventing people from indulging in corrupt practices.
The lives of Swami Vivekananda, Swami Dayanand Saraswati and Rabindranath Tagore showed the path of serving humanity, which the youth should follow, he added.
