Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today directed the officers to lay special emphasis on maintaining proper law and order situation in the state and adopt zero tolerance towards crime.
Addressing the senior officers of police and civil administration, he said effective steps were needed to maintain law and order and officers should adopt zero tolerance towards crime.
He also asked the officers to take steps to encourage the youth against drug addiction.

"The inclination of youth towards drugs is matter of grave concern," he said, adding the maximum complaints in this case were reported mainly in the areas adjoining Punjab border.
Khattar, as per an official release here, also directed the officers to keep a check on the incident of smuggling of cows to Uttar Pradesh, saying "the state government was committed to ensure 'Gau Raksha' (protect cow)".
The Haryana Chief Minister said the state government had launched cleanliness drive in the state and directed the officers that besides maintaining cleanliness, adequate arrangements should be made for dumping of garbage to keep the environment pollution free.
He asked the officers to erect permanent dustbins having separate provision for solid, paper and oily waste at few places.
The Chief Minister gave directions to immediately redress the problem regarding the supply of urea and fertiliser and for this, he asked the officers to keep a check on hoarding of these items.
