In order to bring transparency to development works being undertaken at the village level, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today launched a web based software 'Village Integrated Monitoring System' (VIMS).
Calling it a public portal, Khattar said the software will check corruption, accelerate the pace of development works, build capacity and ensure transparency in development works being carried out in Assembly Constituencies, Blocks and Gram Panchayats.
In case of laxity, the officer concerned would be answerable and if found guilty legal action would be initiated against him, he said.

He said to operate the application, a work code will be allotted through VIMS to every panchayat institutions. The code will have all information of the amount of money spent by an officer on a particular work and when the work will be completed.
It will also have information like how much funds have been drawn from which bank for development works, he said.
This software will not only reduce the workload of employees but also help in keeping the records of panchayats safe, Khattar said.
The Chief Minister also reviewed other government schemes- Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Mhara Gaon Jagmag Gaon, open defecation free, CM Window -- being carried out in the district.
He directed the officers to complete the ongoing works in a time bound manner.
