Khattar pays tribute to former Deputy CM Mangal Sen

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today said that former Deputy Chief Minister Mangal Sen was a nationalist who gave special attention to discipline in his life.

The young generation should take inspiration from his life, he said.

He said that Dr Mangal Sen was vigilant sentinel of Hinduism, Nationalism and Indian Culture.

"He was a dedicated social worker who worked selflessly throughout his life. He played active role in every social and national problems, be it Hindi Movement or Kashmir issue, protection of rights of Haryana and during the attacks by Pakistan and China," Khattar said.

The Chief Minister paid floral tributes to Mangal Sen on the occasion of his 89th birth anniversary, at Haryana Civil Secretariat here.
 

He said that Sen had started his life as a campaigner of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and played a significant role in strengthening of BJP in Haryana.

Sen had remained deputy chief minister of Haryana from 1977 to 1979. He got in state legislative from Rohtak assembly seat on seven occasions.

Khattar said that he himself had a chance to work with him and learned a lot.

The Chief Minister also greeted the people of the state on the occasion of Maharshi Valmiki Jayanti and urged them to follow the path shown by Maharshi.

He said that Valmiki did not belong to a particular sect, but was the epitome of entire humanity.

On the completion of one year of first ever BJP government in Haryana, the Chief Minister said that it has taken various steps during this period to provide good governance to people and laid foundation of corruption-free governance, which would turn out to be a sturdy structure in next four years.

The CM said that a number of welfare schemes had been started during the past one year, which have been yielding positive results.

On new schemes of government on the occasion of completion of 50 years of Haryana's inception, he said that it is a matter of happiness that Haryana is entering 50th year of its inception on November 1 and would celebrate golden jubilee in 2016.

All departments have been directed to prepare new schemes which would be executed in coming years, he said.
