Khattar pays tributes to Sardar Patel, lauds his contribution

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today administered 'Rashtriya Ekta Diwas' pledge to officials of Haryana Civil Secretariat here on the occasion of 139th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

Khattar said that everyone should dedicate themselves to preserve the unity, integrity and security of the nation and also strive hard to spread this message among all fellow countrymen.

Paying rich tributes to Patel, the Chief Minister said he played a prominent role during the independence struggle of the country and actively participated in the task of building a united and independent nation.

Also present on the occasion were Finance Minister Capt Abhimanyu, Chief Secretary Shakuntla Jakhu, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Sanjeev Kaushal, among others.
 

At another 'Rastriya Ekta Diwas' function at DAV College here, the Chief Minister flagged off the 'Run for Unity' drive organised to commemorate the occasion.

Khattar who also took part in the run along the students, said that since Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel is being reckoned as an icon of unity in the history of the country, the 'Run for Unity' should be organised every year so as to maintain unity and integrity of the country.
