Khattar postpones visit to Sunped village

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today postponed his visit to Sunped village, where the house of a Dalit family was set ablaze, allegedly by upper caste men, resulting in the death of two children.

Deputy Commissioner Faridabad, Amit Kumar Agrawal, said the scheduled visit of Chief Minister Khattar, to meet the aggrieved family at Sunped in Faridabad, has been postponed for the day.

He did not rule out the visit tomorrow.

The media advisor to the Chief Minister, Amit Arya, also confirmed the development.

Meanwhile, police resorted to mild cane charge on the protesting locals to clear the link highway.
 

The bodies of the toddlers were also lifted from the road. The family agreed to carry out last rites of the children, who died in the fire on the early hours of October 20.

Meanwhile, all the four accused-- Balwant, Dharm Singh, Sanjay and Kartar were remanded in two days police custody by a court here.
