Khattar releases travel book

With an aim to boost tourism in the state and for providing an ease to travellers visiting Haryana, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today released a book titled 'Haryana Travel Guide' which would offer accurate and comprehensive information about the state.

Releasing the book, Khattar complimented Haryana Tourism Department for their initiative which will give impetus to the tourism sector in the state.

The first-of-its kind travel book about Haryana has been aesthetically designed using over 250 photographs of major tourist attractions and famous events of the state, an official release said here.

"The book is a well researched document about many known and lesser known interesting facts about the places of interest of the leading agrarian state of India. Travellers can
 

bring this book along with them for ready reference while travelling to different parts of Haryana," Khattar said.

Tourism Department's Managing Director Sumita Misra said this is the first initiative to promote and project tourism in the state by getting a travel guide published for the ease of travellers from different parts of India and abroad.

She said that the book would take the readers through the state's historical, mythological, and cultural riches "for this is the land of Kurukshetra, where the epic battle of Mahabharata was fought, and also the land of Panipat, which witnessed three major battles that had a defining impact on the history."

The 132-page book provides valuable insights on the heritage sites, festival like the Surajkund International Craft Mela, highway tourism, farm tourism and handy information about the stat, she said.
