Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar will lead an official person and a 6-member business delegation to Japan and China tomorrow to invite foreign direct investment to the state.
He will return to the country on January 23.
The Chief Minister, who was replying to media questions here today, said that his foreign tour has been curtailed by two days as Prime Minister Narender Modi would be in Chandigarh on January 24 to receive the French President Francois Hollande.
In reply to a question concerning opening of women police stations in each district of the state, Khattar said that the Union Women and Child Development Minister Maneka Gandhi has appreciated this initiative of the state government and she has suggested the need for more such efforts to ensure security of women.
When asked about strength of women constables in Haryana, he said that the process to recruit 1,000 more women constables has been started.
The government would increase their percentage from 5 per cent to 10 in the state police force, he said.
When asked whether the state government would reward those who have conducted raids in neighbouring states under a special drive to check female foeticide, the Chief Minister replied in affirmative adding that a scheme was being prepared for all departments to reward all those who would render outstanding service.
In reply to a question concerning a low intensity blast in a bogie of a passenger train at railway station in Panipat the other day, Khattar said that the incident was being investigated.
When asked if the state government would consider making outstanding sports women of Haryana as brand ambassadors instead of Indian film actresses, the Chief Minister replied in affirmative adding that the state government has not spent money on any such brand ambassadors as their services were voluntary and in future too such services would be sought on voluntary basis.
In reply to another question concerning the suggestion made by Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij that instead of tiger, cow should be declared as the national animal, the Chief Minister said that the suggestion was good.
While referring to education of girls, he replied to a question saying that his government has got mapping of girls colleges done and wherever required new colleges would be opened.
He said it was announced to open about 25 new colleges and most of these are for women. There was a plan to open eight such colleges next year and more would also be opened soon.
When his attention was drawn towards the Lokayukta who is retiring, the Chief Minister said that the new Lokayukta would be chosen after consultation with concerned persons and that too after his return from China and Japan.

successfully in bordering states Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Punjab under these Acts.
He said in another approach, awareness rallies, 'prabhat pheris', health camps, baby shows and signature campaigns were organised to create awareness among people.
In district Sirsa, sex ratio at birth increased from 948 in October, 2015, to 978 in November, and to 999 in December, Khattar said.
"A big nexus of quacks, health workers, touts and Registered Medical Practitioners, were busted by Sirsa police with the help of the Health Department and about 40 persons were arrested and convicted in the district," he said.
On the occasion, Khattar lauded Health Minister Anil Vij, Women and Child Development (WCD) Minister Kavita Jain, and all officials of Health, WCD, Police, Prosecution, Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Public Relations department for their concerted and dedicated efforts during the last seven months.
He also appreciated the efforts made by all Deputy Commissioners (DCs) for coordinating with all departments in their respective districts to ensure quick action, and officials of Health, FDA and Police Departments, apart from the media, which supported the campaign.
Giving details of the efforts made under the 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao' programme in the state, Khattar said 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao' Secretariat was established in his office for effective implementation and monitoring of this mission by coordinating the efforts of Health, Women and Child Development and Education Departments.
Reiterating his government's commitment towards improving sex ratio and ending female foeticide, he said while a major breakthrough had been made in improving sex ratio, more efforts were required to end this social evil. He also urged people from all sections of the society to participate in the 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao' programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Vij, said in order to end female foeticide, the state government had earlier announced a scheme to offer Rs one lakh as reward for reporting violations of the PCPNDT and MTP Acts. As many as 17 such informers have so far been rewarded.
