The condition of former Delhi Chief Minister Madan Lal Khurana, who underwent a surgery following brain haemorrhage, is improving and his vital parameters are normal, doctors treating him said today.

"Khurana's all vital parameters are normal, he is responding well to treatment and started opening his eyes. Bleeding in the brain has subsided and is presently on minimal support of ventilator which we can remove in the next couple of days, although he is still in ICU," Rajesh Acharya, Senior Neuro Surgeon at Ganga Ram hospital, said.

Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit had visited the hospital to meet him yesterday. She stayed with him for half-an-hour and enquired about his treatment from doctors.

77-year-old Khurana was admitted to hospital at 3 AM on Tuesday after he suffered a haemorrhage in the right side of the brain. Doctors operated on him for controlling the bleeding.

His surgery took an hour and was conducted by neurosurgeons Rajesh Acharya, Samir Kalra and Gaurav Jain at the hospital.
