With China blocking India's bid at the UN to ban JeM chief Masood Azhar, Congress leader Salman Khurshid today critcised the Narendra Modi dispensation, saying Indian diplomacy needs to understand the Chinese "psyche" and "mere speeches" will not help.

"There is no point complaining about what the Chinese have done. We must understand the Chinese psyche. Have we understood the Chinese psyche to have expected them to have done something else? Our diplomacy is not taking into account the thinking of the other side.
