A Class XII girl allegedly kidnapped from near her college yesterday was rescued from Selakui Vikas Nagar in Dehradun this morning, police said.

Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Sanjay Singh said it as not a kidnapping case as "the girl in her statement said she was not kidnapped but left with two friends on her own will. She was putting up at a house in Dehradun's Selakui Vikas Nagar."

He said the girl's location was revealed during interrogation of her friends.

"Her friends had reported that she was kidnapped by four men in a car near Arya Samaj Inter College in Gill Colony. But, actually, she left with her friends on their motorcycle, he said.
