The ex-cop held guilty is Suresh Kumar.
According to the prosecution, Kumar, who was recipient of the kidney of a minor boy, got it transplanted illegally with the help of doctors.
It was stated in the FIR that the boy was threatened at gunpoint after which he gave his consent to donate his kidney.
At that time, Mahajan was the Principal-cum-Chairman of the Kidney Transplant Authorisation Committee of the GMC and Jagdish Gargi a member of KTAC.
The prosecution said the doctors threw all medical norms to the wind as they were fully aware that the boy was a minor and was not willing to donate his kidney.
