Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF) will be acquiring a rigorous selection process to ensure that the best works of the world cinema is showcased during the festival.
"The screening process of the films which will be screened at the Kolkata Film Festival this year would be made more rigorous so that the best films are shown here," Goutam Ghosh, KIFF 2016 chairman told reporters.
State Cultural Affairs Secretary Atri Bhattacharya said during the festival, the department is also planning to conduct a contest based on the short films .

"This contest will help the young generation of film makers. The short film will portray the entire process from the preparatory work for film festival till the end, (closing ceremony)," Bhattacharya said.
