Kim Kardashian has caused outrage on Twitter after posting the picture of a jewel-encrusted gun just weeks after championing the cause of anti-gun violence in the wake of Sandy Hook shootings.
The 32-year-old was clearly impressed by the fancy weapon, which featured a gold trigger and jewel-encrusted handle but she soon realised her mistake and deleted the pictures.
The pictures were in contrast to her concern about gun violence in January. Kim had asked her 17,000,000 followers to support the Sandy Hook cause at that time, writing, "Today, people in Newtown are making the #sandyhookpromise to reduce gun violence. Sign the pledge with me."
The shooting at the elementary school had killed 26 people, mostly children.
The pregnant star's latest faux pas has not gone down well with her followers, who have pointed out her hypocrisy.
"Kim Kardashian is quite dense, isn't she? Pledging to support the gun control movement and then uploading pictures of designer handguns...," one follower wrote.
Another commented, "@KimKardashian you were 'devastate' about the tragedy in Newton but to show us a gun with diamonds its swaaag???"
While one advised the star to "Stick 2 taking pics" instead of jumping in to support social causes.
Her recent concern about gun-violence notwithstanding, the reality star has posted several such photos in the past.
Kim is not new to Twitter gaffes. During the Palestine-Israel violence in November, Kim tweeted, "Praying for everyone in Israel." When blasted by followers, she promptly tweeted, "Praying for everyone in Palestine and across the world!"
