Family members of slain BSP leader Sarvesh Singh Seepu today called for a CBI inquiry into his murder, failing which they threatened to go on a fast and move court over their demand.

Wife of the former MLA, Vandana Singh, and his brother Santosh Singh said that they do not have any faith in the police inquiry and would go on a fast and, if required, move High Court, unless the state government recommended a CBI probe into the July 19 murder.

Meanwhile, when contacted, principal secretary (home) RM Srivastava said that the state government had already stated it had no objection to recommending a CBI inquiry if the kin of the former MLA so demanded; but no application has so far been received in this regard.
