Kirana prices settle steady on little doing

Prices almost remained rangebound at the wholesale kirana market in the national capital today on scattered buying activity amid comfortable stocks position and closed at the previous levels.

Traders said sporadic demand from retailers against ample stocks position largely held prices unaltered.

Following are today's quotations (in Rs):

Ajwain (per kg) 125-180, black pepper (per kg) 690-800, betel-nut (kg) 250-295, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 840-850 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 900-1,125.

Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 1,375-1,475, cardamom (colour robin) 1,340-1,370, cardamom bold 1,390-1,420, cardamom extra (bold) 1,500-1,525 and cloves 540-650.
