Kitchloo, who was sworn in last week in the Cabinet reshuffle, asked the senior police officers to develop better police-public relations at the grassroots level so that the grievances of general public can be mitigated.
He also underlined the need for imbuing confidence among people.
In the review meeting, Kitchloo was briefed by IGP (Kashmir) S M Sahai about the overall security scenario in the Kashmir Valley.
The Minister was also briefed about security arrangements for the forthcoming Republic Day functions at the capital and other districts of the state.
Kitchloo stressed upon implementation of people-friendly measures for smooth conclusion of the Republic Day functions.
