KJK to contest around 100 wards in Western TN

Continuing its alliance with BJP, Kongunadu Jananayaka Katchi (KJK) will contest over 100 seats in the coming local body elections in the Western districts of Tamil Nadu, its Founder-President G K Nagaraj said today.

The tie-up was announced by Nagaraj after discussions with state BJP General Secretary Vanati Srinivasan and senior leader C P Radhakrishnan.

He told reporters that KJK had been alloted two seats in the 100-ward Coimbatore Corporation.

The party had contested two seats in the assembly polls in May last in alliance with BJP and polled 'considerable percentage of votes', he said.

Similarly, around 100 wards in Dharmapuri, Salem, Erode, Namakkal, Tirupur, Coimbatore, Nilgiris districts would be contested by KJK under the BJP's Lotus symbol, he said.
