Several people participated in the march called by Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti, a peasants' rights group in Assam, from Kaki here to the Raj Bhavan in Guwahati to protest against the Centre's "communal attitude" and its "failure" in all sectors.
Setting out on the march on November 20, the people passed through Nagaon yesterday where KMSS chief Akhil Gogoi at a street meeting also demanded dismissal of Assam Governor P B Acharya for, what he alleged as, his "communal views".
He criticised the governor for having "violated the Constitution by expressing that Hindustan is for us".

"Once BJP opposed the FDI in our country but now they opened the gate for FDI even in defence, agriculture and other such sectors," he said.
Gogoi was also critical of new BJP Assam unit president Sarbananda Sonowal and accused him of losing his 'jatiyatabadi' (regional) character after joining BJP from regional party Asom Gana Parishad.
Gogoi was hit out at the Congress-led Assam government alleging that the Tarun Gogoi dispensation has failed to fulfil the aspiration of the common people of the state.
