KNLA militant arrested

The self-styled

commander-in-chief of terrorist group Karbi National Liberation Army (KNLA) was arrested today by Indian Army.

According to an official release from the Defence wing, the Army unit at Jagiroad under Chindits Brigade of Red Horns division apprehended Rajen Singar alias Ashok Timung from Karbi Anglong district today.

Singar is the C-in-C of KNLA, it added.

The Army also recovered one country made pistol along with some demand notes of KNLA from Singar.

The release said the militant is wanted in many cases.
