Eminent scientist A Sivathanu Pillai today said "future wars would be fought in space" and "information warfare" is going to "rule the world" in the days to come.

"Suppose there is a future war. What will that war be... The war will be in space between satellite to satellite," said the Padma Bhushan awardee while addressing a gathering at a college in suburban Vile Parle here.

He further said, "There is missile to missile attack. You want precision attack... That is super sonic rangers. Then there is under water war between nuclear submarines. Above all there is one warfare coming which is cyber war... You don't have to go and fight a war at the border, sit here and finish the border. Information warfare is picking up and finally it will rule the world," said the scientist, who has also authored a few books.

The Father of Brahmos Aerospace said that their "grand" space "vision" includes sending an Indian on the Moon and study of Sun.

"We are going to send a rover on Moon in December 2017 to find out the important materials that exist there. We will then do research (based on information sent by the rover) and finally a human being will land on the Moon...That is an Indian will land on Moon," he said.

"Beyond Moon there is a planet called Mars. Our satellite Mangalyaan is happily moving around the planet. So, we are going to have many missions for Moon, Mars. The next mission is for Venus. There is one more vision coming and that is Aditya which involves studying the Sun, he added.

The scientist said after agricultural, industrial and information age today we are living in a knowledge age.

"Brain power dominates the knowledge age. We are only country which has over 600 billion youths below 35 years, which means the knowledge is in India today.

Such a knowledge power can lead to revolution. And we are expecting a technological revolution, which only can make our country great," he added.
