Two Japanese firms, Kobelco Plate Processing India and Piolax India, which had set up manufacturing facilities at Sri City Special Economic Zone near here, today announced expansion of the facilities.
Kobelco Plate Processing India Director Satoru Hoshino, Piolax Group President Yukihiko Shimazu announced expansion of the facilities at a function, a company statement said.
"We are very glad as both Kobelco and Piolax are growing, expanding and continuing to invest here in Sri City SEZ. This is the second unit expansion by Kobelco Group," Sri City SEZ Managing Director Ravindra Sannareddy said.
Kobelco Plate Processing India, a member of USD 2.49 billion Kobe Steel Group, Japan has 40,000 employees worldwide. It had set up a factory at the SEZ in 2013.
Piolax India, a subsidiary of USD 29.5 million Piolax Japan, manufactures auto-components. The company had set up its manufacturing unit in SEZ in 2012.
