With Tollywood flicks hitting screens all over the globe and having shots from the icy meadows to sanddunes in Africa and Europe, international designer Rohit Bal now forays to the Bengal front to cash in the new buzz about Entertain ment Hotspot Bengal.

Pointing out that Rohit's Mughal-themed designer cuisine hub Veda, an amalgamation between the Mughal to the Millennium era with the fashion-czar's signature style in food and decor, turned new entertainment destination, upcoming actor Saheb Bhattacharya told PTI, "Had you ever thought about success parties of big ticket production houses - from Mishawr Rawhasyo to Chadan Roy Sanyal's Prague to the birthday bash of Tollywood badshah, the one and only Prosenjit Chatterjee - even three years back!"

"We used to look at Mumbai where such

Bollywood-centric and fashion-based parties were regular features with 12-13 restaurants, lounges and night clubs always hosting one or the other. This buzz is very important in the present scenario where work hard and party harder is the mantra of the present generation," Saheb, son of star national footballer if yesteryears Subrata Bhattacharjee, said.

The 'Daker Saj' actor also dwelt on the infusion of glamour quotient for the already content-rich Bengali films, which had always scored over the subject but was often found wanting still.

Elaborating Saheb's comments, the IFFI award winner Apur Panchali and national award winner Laptop actor Gourav Chakraborty, another important member of the Gen X brigade of actors in Tolly, said "Kolkata is now hardselling itself on the entertainment, lifestyle and hospitality fronts together.

"While our content-rich flicks had been wooing audiences for long, now with the coming up of places like a fashion guru's creative foray into the cuisine and pub world, marrying the art of showbiz with hospitality. The entertainment segment industry now seems to be more happening abroad with most recent films also being world premiered on foreign shores," Gourab, who often hits such contemporary but private places with a select group of friends, said.

Rating Rohit Bal as one of her most favourite fashion conjurers, model Sonika Chauhan said, "Being part of the modelling industry I am proud with the image make-over of the showbiz world here, that gels with Rohit Bal choosing to set his base in this part of the world."

Sonika, who rated the intricate mirror work on the walls and columns of the period place as appetisers of a party, said "We are now looking forward to a gala ramp show in sync with the ambience.
