Konkan railway collects fine of Rs 3.52 lakh

The Railway Protection Force of the Konkan Railway apprehended 180 persons as per offences under various Railway Acts and imposed fines totalling Rs 3.52 lakh in the first quarter of the current financial year.

The amount was collected during raids in the last three months, a release here said.

It also said the RPF seized 3,570 unclaimed illicit liquor bottles worth Rs 1.08 lakh during the period.

The RPF apprehended 178 persons for anti-social activities, including trespassing, littering, creating nuisance, begging and drunkenness in railway premises and realized a total fine of Rs 1.96 lakh in such cases.

Two persons were held for stealing railway property from the yard here and were booked under the Railway Protection (Unlawful Possession) Act, the release said.
 

During the ticket checking campaign with the assistance of commercial staff, 93 persons were caught travelling ticketless and a fine of Rs 47,338 was realized from them during the last three month period, the release said.
