Konkan Railway employees contribute Rs 25 lakh for J&K relief

In a gesture towards the people of Jammu and Kashmir affected by the recent floods, the Konkan Railway employees have contributed Rs 25 lakh to the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund.

The cheque was recently handed over on behalf of the Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL) employees by CMD of KRCL Bhanu Prakash Tayal to Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu, a Railway press release said here today.

"Konkan Railway employees share the sorrow of the people of Jammu and Kashmir for the loss of lives and property caused during the recent floods in the state," the release said.

Though the loss was irreparable, the employees of KRCL and the Konkan Railway Women's Clultural and Social Service Association had taken the small gesture towards providing relief to the flood-affected people in Jammu and Kashmir, it said.
