The railway stations at Udupi and Suratkal would be renovated by widening the platforms, providing additional entries and widening the existing ones, Konkan Railway Corporation Ltd (KRCL) said.
In a release here, KRCL said the proposed work would be completed by December, this year.
The corporation had decided to open another entry and exit at Udupi station considering the large number of passengers who visit the educational hub, Manipal, it said. The existing entry and exit at Surathkal station would be widened.

Bio-toilets would be installed and provisions for passenger-facilitation centres to provide tickets would also be introduced at the two stations soon.
The silver jubilee year of the Konkan Railway Corporation would be celebrated by conducting various programmes throughout the year starting from October 15, it said.
