Korean and Taiwanese entrepreneurs have "shown interest" in investing in the manufacture of computer hardware and electronics in West Bengal, state's Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said today.

"In a significant development, Korean and Taiwanese entrepreneurs are showing interest in investing in manufacture of computer hardware and electronics in West Bengal," she said in a post on her official page on social networking site Facebook.

"They are world leaders in this domain. This would usher in investment and major job opportunities for the youth of our state, which is endowed with intellectually rich human resources for cutting edge electronic manufacturing," she said.

"On visiting a hardware park coming up at Naihati in North 24-Paraganas district the Korean team expressed high optimism about Bengal, as future destination of the Korean hardware investments," she said.

"Koreans are looking at Bengal as the gateway of export of electronic and hardware items to Bangladesh, Mayanmar, China and other major ASEAN countries," she said.

With the advent of world class players like Korea and Taiwan, West Bengal was targeting to improve its market share in hardware and electronic goods significantly, she said.
