The construction on 30-km-long Kotkapura-Sri Muktsar Sahib and 36-km Batal-Mehta-Beas stretches would commence in April next year, PWD minister Sharanjit Singh Dhillon said here today.

The projects would be completed by December 2014, he said.

Kotkapura-Sri Muktsar Sahib four-lane project also involved construction of two high-level bridges, Dhillon said.

With the completion of this project, the road traffic on NH-95 (Ludhiana-Ferozepur) to NH-15 would become smoother, he said.

The four-lane 56-km Ropar-Chamkaur Sabhib-Neelon-Doraha road project, estimated to cost nearly Rs 240 crore along the Sirhind Canal, would become operational by August 2014, the minister said.
