Even though BCCI's chief of groundstaff Daljeet Singh has worked to keep a fair amount of grass which is a must to ensure good bounce, local lad Shikhar Dhawan, who will be playing his first match in India colours here, said it will be a "typical Kotla track with low bounce".

"I haven't still had a look at the wicket. But if you ask me, it will be a typical Kotla track. Batting track with low bounce," said a smiling Dhawan, as a few who had witnessed the dead Kotla track during the domestic season also found it hard to suppress their grin.

It will be Dhawan's first match in India colours at his home ground as he had missed out on a chance to play at the Kotla during his debut Test series against Australia having sustained a fracture.

"I was just telling my friends that," when reminded about his India debut at Kotla.

"Obviously, after seven-eight years of Ranji Trophy, it is good to return here as an India player. I miss hanging around here, but playing in front of your home crowd is always special. It's a dream and I will cherish it.
