Over 200 migrant relief holders held protest demonstration in support of their demand for enhancement of monthly relief for displaced Kashmiri Pandits and also issuance of notice for recruitment to remaining posts under Prime Minister's employment package in J&K.

Raising anti-government slogans, they held demonstrations at Relief Commissioner's office and tried to take out a protest rally in the city. However, police did not allowed them to take out the protest march resulting in brief clashes with them.

"We are on strike for past three months in support of our demand for enhancement of monthly relief but central government has turned a blind eye with a proposal of enhancement of relief submitted to it by the state government," Vinod Kumar, one of the leaders, told reporters.

The central government should immediately approve the proposal of increase of relief and also issue notice for filling the remaining posts under PM's package, Kumar said.
