Kashmiri Pandits are likely to be provided with state buses to ferry them to Kashmir Valley to participate in the annual Kheer Bhawani mela, Jammu's Relief Commissioner (Migrants) R K Pandita said today.
"I have sent a proposal on the pattern of previous year seeking permission from the government to organise smooth travel of the members of KPs from Jammu to Ganderbal district in Kashmir valley," Pandita told reporters here.
He said he was hopeful that the government would accord formal sanction to the proposal.

Pandita said he has already directed different camp coordinators to make rough estimates by noting down names of those keen on visiting the mela.
The state government is currently making arrangements in Ganderbal to facilitate smooth pilgrimage for the members of the displaced community, he said.
The Kheer Bhawani mela, to begin on June 17, has over the years become a source of reunion for Kashmiri Pandits following their mass exodus from the Valley in the wake of eruption of militancy in early 1990s.
