He was speaking after the conclusion of the month-long agricultural fest, 'Krishi Mahotsav', where state officials and elected representatives travel to villages and teach scientific farming techniques to farmers.
He said an assistance about Rs 720 crore has been given to around 15.17 lakh farmers during the eighth edition of the Krishi Mahotsav.
Modi lauded the efforts of Government officials, agro- scientists and experts who visited 225 talukas and 4,397 village clusters and educated farmers about scientific methods of farming.
During the fest, around 3.5 lakh soil specimens were tested in labs and 2.75 lakh soil health cards were given to farmers, the CM said.
Modi called upon farmers to cover entire Gujarat under drip irrigation method and work towards record foodgrain production.
