Medium pacer Krishna Das snared a seven wicket-haul to aid Assam in their 10-wicket win over Tripura in a Ranji Trophy Group C match at the Nehru Stadium here today.

Tripura's batting came a cropper for the second time in a row, folding up for 135 and 155 in each innings after Assam made 275. The hosts needed just 16 runs to win in the second innings and it took them just 3.3 overs to reach home on day three of the game.

Openers Pallavkumar Das and Dheeraj Jadhav remained unbeaten on eight and nine respectively.

Tripura, starting their second innings at two for no loss, could last only 64.4 overs. They had batted 57.3 overs in the first innings.

Krishna ripped through the batting order, taking his match tally to ten wickets. For Tripura, the contributions from Rajesh Banik (39) and Rakesh Solanki (40) were not enough to save their team.

Brief scores: Tripura 135 and 155 (Rakesh Solanki 40, Rajesh Banik 39; Krishna Das 7/50) Assam 275 and 1/0.
