Kerala State Chalachitra Academy will hold public screenings of iconic films at select city venues every Sunday in the run-up to the 20th edition of the International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) in December.
KSCA chairman T Rajivnath will inaugurate the first viewing at Manaveeyam Veedhi on October 4 at 6:30 PM. Vittorio de Sica's Italian neo-realist classic, "The Bicycle Thieves", will be the first movie screened.
It will be the first time in IFFK's history that Manaveeyam, the bustling cultural hub, hosts works of legendary filmmakers. KSCA has partnered with the street's Manaveeyam Theruvorakootam collective to showcase the cinematic geniuses for a wider domestic audience.
