KSLTA is assured of a help of Rs one crore from the state government but the tennis body still needs to raise another 1.57 crore through sponsors to host India's Davis Cup tie against formidable Serbia in September.
"We are happy to know that Rs one crore is being sanctioned to host the Davis Cup World Group playoff here, but we still are in hunt for some more sponsors," KSLTA Secretary C S Sundar Raju said.
"With the government sanctioning Rs one crore we further require Rs 1.57 crore for renovation work at the stadium. It has not started due to want of funds, Raju said.

To cater to the needs of international players such as Novak Djokovic, Raju said KSLTA needs funds to create world class locker-room, umpiring and gym facilities.
The last time India and Serbia clashed was in 2011 when the visitors lost 1-4 in Novi Sad.
KSLTA had hosted Davis Cup tie in August 1985, when India met Sweden in the quarter-finals. The formidable Swedish squad of Mats Wilander, Andres Jarryd, Stefan Edberg and Joakim Nystrom defeated a vintage Indian team comprising Vijay Amritaj, Anand Amritraj, Ramesh Krishnan and Sashi Meno.
