With an eye on the Kumbh Mela to be held here next year, the Railways has decided to refurbish the coaches of prestigious trains connecting Allahabad to different parts of the country, an official of the North Central Railway said.
Inspecting a refurbished 'Kumbh-2019' theme-based air-conditioned coach, at Allahabad Junction station, North Central Railway General Manager Rajiv Chaudhry said, "This coach will be attached to the prestigious Prayagraj Express to provide a delightful experience to passengers visiting Allahabad for the Kumbh Mela."
This coach wears the 'Kumbh 2019 logo' and vinyl wrapping with beautiful images of the temples and the 'tent-city' for devotees in the Mela area. The vestibule area has been wrapped with images portraying the night view the Kumbh Mela.
He said that other coaches be upgraded according to the Kumbh-2019 theme at the earliest and hoped that it would "be helpful in providing comfortable and hygienic experience to devotees during the Kumbh Mela".
