Kumher arson: Court awards life term to seven

A court here has awarded life imprisonment to seven persons, besides acquitting 19 people in a case related to infamous 1992 Kumher arson, in which two persons were killed.

The special court pronounced the judgement yesterday in which it convicted seven persons in the case and acquitted 19 others.

CBI, which was probing the case, had submitted chargesheet against 28 people.

Out of them, seven were awarded life imprisonment, 19 were acquitted and remaining died during the trail of the case.

A mob of 200 people had attacked a village in Kumher on June 7, 1992, one day after the arson and clashes broke out in the town, leaving two men dead.
