On the 39th day of his hunger strike, suspended Trinamool Congress MP Kunal Ghosh today withdrew it 'temporarily.'

Ghosh's decision to break his fast came after a city court decided to review his appeal of a fair probe into the Saradha scam.

Ghosh knew he would not be allowed in the court if he continued fasting, so he has called it off, a senior officer of the Presidency jail said.

The next date of hearing is November 20 (Friday).

Ghosh has been fasting since October 10 last demanding a fair probe into the Saradha scam.

He was arrested on November 23, 2013 by the CBI and sent to custody on September 4, 2014, after the central investigating agency took over investigation into the Ponzi scams on the orders of the Supreme Court.
