Uttarakhand Assembly Speaker Govind Singh Kunjwal today directed officials to begin work on the construction of the Vidhan Bhawan at Gairsain by June this year.

In a meeting with officers concerned, Kunjwal asked implementing agency National Buildings Construction Corporation to submit its final design of the proposed Assembly building at Gairsain by March 11 so that a detailed report on the project could be prepared by April and work on it could be started by June, official sources said.

The Speaker also reviewed the budget cleared by various departments including PWD, Power, Drinking Water and Health for construction of the project and infrastructure work related to it, they said.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna laid the foundation stone of Gairsain Vidhan Bhawan on January 14 this year and announced that one session of the House will be held there every year.
