Kurukshetra to host Har's first international short film fest

Kurukshetra will host Haryana's first international short film festival from April 13 to 16.

During the four-day festival, 65 short films in 17 languages from 12 countries will be screened, an official spokesman said here today.

The film festival would be organised by the Kurukshetra district administration in collaboration with the Sanskrit Society for Art and Cultural Development at the Multi Art Cultural Centre in Kurukshetra, he said.

"It is for the first time when an international short film festival is being organised in Haryana. The festival would provide an opportunity to the people to witness the confluence of languages of different countries in a single event," the spokesman said.
 

Short films from Taiwan, Iran, Nepal, Spain and France among others, and movies in Haryanvi, Punjabi, Hindi, Marathi, Telegu, Bengali, Urdu and English languages will be screened during the festival, he said.

The spokesman said on the inaugural day of the festival, art and culture based films will be shown.

The festival would begin with the screening of Haryanvi film Lado Basanti, he said.
