RLSP chief and Union Minister Upendra Kushwaha today asked the Bihar government to provide "maximum relief" to the victims of a fire incident in his parliamentary constituency Karakat.

He cancelled all his engagements and flew to Patna in the evening.

"At least 12 people have died. The toll could go up. Many more are injured. It's a tragic incident. I have asked the local officials to provide them maximum relief," he said before leaving for Patna.

Kushwaha represents Karakat in the Lok Sabha.

Twelve people, including six children, were charred to death and at least six sustained burn injuries in a fire at a house in Bihar's Aurangabad district.
