Kut celebrated in Mizoram

Chapchar Kut, the most important

festival of the Mizos was celebrated with song and dance today.

Well-known singers took to the stage and entertained thousands of participants of Kut at the Assam Rifles ground here.

Traditional dances like Cheraw, Sarlamkai, Solakia, Khuallam, Chheihlam and others were performed by different branches of the Young Mizo Association and cultural clubs.

Thanseia, Secretary of the INTACH (Mizoram Chapter) was the 'Kut Pa' or father of the festival.

Chapchar Kut was also celebrated by the agrarian Mizos engaged in shifting cultivation.
