In view of the recent decision of the government towards making a cashless society, the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) has decided to train students and teachers in cashless modes of transactions.
The students and teachers in turn shall endeavour to educate their families, friends and society, the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD) said.
A circular regarding this 'Financial Literacy Drive' has already been issued to all the regional offices of the Sangathan, it said according to a release.

According to the statement, the training will be imparted at school level to all teachers and students from class IX onwards by the experts from local banks or financial institutions and post-graduate teachers (computers, commerce or economics).
The students who are actively participating and in turn involving training other students, community and family members will be rewarded with certificates and mementos at school level.
The schools may also utilise the services of Scouts and Guides to educate the society on cashless transaction under community service and development programme. KVs have force of more than one lakh Scouts and Guides, the release added.
